From whose point of view is the story being told? Jean-Louise Finch (Scout)
Who is Calpurnia? What is she like? She is the Finch’s housekeeper. She is the mother-figure to Jem and Scout.
What game does Dill invent? The Boo Radley Game. (An attempt to get Boo Radley out of his house.)
What do the children know about the Radley family history? Radley family keeps to themselves. They don’t go to church, but worshiped at home instead.
What did Arthur (Boo) Radley do that landed him in county jail temporarily? Resisted arrest by Maycomb’s ancient beadle, Mr. Conner, and locked him in the courthouse outhouse.
According to Jem’s description, what does Boo look like? Thin, leathery man with colorless eyes – did not reflect light. Cheekbones were sharp and his mouth was wide – thin upper lip, full lower lip. He also has great posture.
What act of “courage” on Jem’s part end this chapter? He runs up and touches the Radley house’s front door.
