Romeo and Juliet Study Questions Act 2 scenes 1-6

What does Mercutio say about “blind love”? Mercutio says that if love is blind, love cannot hit its target. Then he talks how Romeo will wait for his lady love until she appears to him when he can then see her again.

Explain what Juliet says about names. Juliet says “what is a name?” that she calls a rose and that people would call it just as sweet as any other name. (still be the same flower) She then tells Romeo to forget his name so that they can be together. It is only his name that makes Romeo an enemy. Juliet talks through problems
Juliet asks how Romeo got into the area under her window. The orchard walls are high, and Romeo’s life would be in danger if her relatives were to find him there. What is Romeo’s response to these questions? Romeo tells her that he came to her by love’s (cupids) wings and that her strong walls won’t keep love out and her family can’t stop him.
Why is Juliet embarrassed? She is embarrassed because she didn’t know that Romeo was eavesdropping on her private thoughts.
