How does Romeo contribute to Mercurio’s death? He put his hand between them and gave Tybalt the opportunity to stab him.
What is the outcome of the fight between Romeo and Tybalt? Romeo kills Tybalt and flees
What punishment does Escalus give Romeo? Banishment from Verona
Why does Juliet defend Romeo’s actions? If Romeo didn’t kill tybalt, he would of been killed.
At the end of scene 2, what does Juliet ask the nurse to do? To go find Romeo and have him come see her before he leaves.
What is Romeo’s reaction when Friar Laurence tells him that Escalus has banished him? He wants to kill himself because banishment is worse than death because everyone can see Juliet but him.
What is Friar Laurence’s plan for Romeo? Go comfort Juliet, leave before sunrise, he will announce the marriage.

At the beginning of scene 5, why does Romeo and Juliet discuss whether it is morning or not? because Romeo has to leave, and they don’t want to leave each other.
