Opening/Closing Scenes The play opens when Iago has taken Roderigo to Brabantio’s home to tell him that his daughter Desdemona has escaped with Othello. The play closes where Desdemona, Emilia, Iago, and Othello lay dead on Othello’s bed after a gruesome massacre.
Plot Details The climax rises at a constant rate as Iago constantly manipulates Othello to believe that Desdemona is cheating. Once Iago convinces Othello of these false accusations, he kills Desdemona out of jealousy.
