Macbeth Act 4

By the pricking of the thumbs, something wicked this way comes Scene 1 -Second witch foreshadows something bad will happen because they are expecting Macbeth to visit again. They have their evil spells and will tell Macbeth things that will corrupt him
Macbeth! Macbeth! Macbeth! Beware Macduff. Beware the thane of Fife. Dismiss me. Enough. Scene 1-first apparition is a head in a battle helmet, it warns Macbeth that Macduff will be a threat to him and he must beware of him
Be bloody, bold, and resolute. Laugh to scorn The power of man, for none of woman born Shall harm Macbeth. Scene 1-second apparition is a bloody child, no one that is born from a woman can harm Macbeth, everyone is born from a woman meaning no one is a threat
Be lion-mettled, proud, and take no care Who chafes, who frets, or where conspirers are. Macbeth shall never vanquished be until Great Birnam Wood to high Dunsinane Hill Shall come against him. Scene 1-third apparition is a crowned child holding a tree and it means that he does not need to fear until the forests move to his castle, but since that is impossible he shall never fear
Seek to know no more. Scene 1-Witches vanish and leave Macbeth hanging with curiousity once again
The castle of Macduff I will surprise, Seize upon Fife, give to th’ edge o’ th’ sword His wife, his babes, and all unfortunate souls That trace him in his line. No boasting like a fool. This deed I’ll do before this purpose cool. But no more sights!—Where are these gentlemen? Come, bring me where they are. Scene 1-Macbeth want to kill everyone in Macduff’s family since he cannot find him. He is willing to kill his wife, son, and family
I think our country sinks beneath the yoke; it weeps, it bleeds, and each new day a gash is added to her wounds Scene 3-Malcolm is saying the country is in danger and pain, describing it as a person that is hurt by the leader, Macbeth
