Scene 1 opens with BQ and his son Fleance talking. What is wrong with BQ here? He cannot sleep bc he is worrying about MB & the witches
When BQ brings up the witches on pg. 20 what does MB say about them? “I think not of them”Which is a lie
Rephrase MB’s quote:”If you shall cleave to my consent, when ’tis,/ it shall make honor for you.” If BQ agrees to to MB’s plan (to kill KD) it should give him honor.

MB is alone on pg. 20 what illusion is he seeing? MB is seeing a bloody dagger with the handle directed towards him
Where does MB say the illusion is coming from? His mind as a false creation
What does he notice about the dagger in his illusion? It’s covered in blood but it was not before
How does MB explain the illusion he sees? What does he say caused it? His “eyes are made fools of the other senses” and it’s caused by his fear of having to kill Duncan
At the end of scene 1 pg. 21, a bell rings. What does MB say the bell is for? His wife would ring the bell to signal him to go and kill Duncan
Paraphrase:”If I lose none/… But still keep/ my bosom franchised and allegiance clear,/ I shall be counsell’d.”Who said this and to whom? If I lose no honor and keep my heart clean and loyalty clear I will agree.BQ to MB
Paraphrase:”I see thee still,/ and on thy blade and dungeon gouts of blood, which was not so before. There’s no such thing.”Who said this and to whom? I still see the dagger and with blood on it that wasn’t there before.MB to himself
Paraphrase:”It is the bloody business which informs thus to mine eyes.”Who said this and to whom? The fear of having to commit this murder causes him go have these illusions.MB to himself
Paraphrase:”I go, and it is done. The bell invites. Hear it not, Duncan, for it is a knell that summons thee to heaven or to hell.”Who said this and to whom? I go and kill him. The bell signals me to go in and kill Duncan/OR (the bell signals me to go in. Duncan shall be dead.)
