Summary Polonius sends someone to check up on Laertes. Ophelia reports that Hamlet is acting weird to her and Polonius says that it is because Hamlet is crazy for love. Claudius urges Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to spy on Hamlet and figure out why he is being strange. Hamlet mocks Polonius in front of a group of actors but also wonders how they can show so much emotion for someone they have never met when he can’t do the same for his own dead father.
