What event does “the play within a play” closely resemble? How do Claudius and Gertrude react? It resembles how Claudius supposedly killed Hamlet’s father. Claudius stands up and requests to leave, and Gertrude is upset with Hamlet.
Explain the metaphor Hamlet uses while talking to Rosencrantz and Guildenstern (comparing himself to a flute that R&G would play). He’s saying he is not as easy to play as a flute. When you play a flute you just press certain buttons in order to create a melody. You can’t just press certain buttons on a human being hoping for the same result.
In his final soliloguy, how does Hamlet plan to act towards his mother in their next meeting? He says he will speak as sharp as a dagger to her.
