Claudius hired who to spy on Hamlet and why Rosencrants and Guildenstern, who were childhood friends of Hamlet because he is acting crazy (figure out why) – real reason is to make sure he is plotting to take over the throne
Why do Rosencrantz and Guildenstern agree to spy on Hamlet? They are being paid and think they are helping him
“Brevity is the soul of wit” – [Character] Polonius is saying that people who are smart get to the point quickly – this is ironic because Polonius is long winded
“Lord Hamlet is a prince, out of thy star. This must not be” – [Character] Polonius is telling Ophelia that Hamlet is out of her league (he is a price and she’s not a princess)
