How would you expect Hamlet to treat his girlfriend Ophelia? Why? Since she’s not allowed to see him, maybe he’ll worry she’s cheating on him, just like his mother did to his father. Or he might distance himself from her because he knows what he must do soon and doesn’t want her to get involved.
How would you expect Hamlet to treat his mother the next time he runs into her? Badly, since he found out she cheated on her husband, Hamlet’s father.
