How does Hamlet feel about women? Hamlet has little respect for women and feels that they betray him. Gertrude married right after his father’s death, giving Hamlet no time to mourn, and Gertrude left Hamlet. He says his mother is weak because she was wooed by gifts. Ophelia is not deemed marriageable. (pg 29- Hamlet Sr was god-like and Claudius is a satyr)

Claudius’ plan was to send Hamlet to England to have him killed. His other plan was to have Laertes stab Hamlet with a poisoned sword. If that plan didn’t work, he would have Hamlet drink from a poisoned cup. Gertrude doesn’t know about this, because she wouldn’t have let Claudius go through with the plan.
