English- Romeo and Juliet

What two families are involved involved in the feud that opens the play and why are they fighting? Montagues and Capulets- because they are from 2 really different families. Their families have fought for years.
Why is Romeo sad in the beginning of Act I? Because he loves Rosaline and she doesn’t love him back.
Who is Queen Mab and what does she do? She is a little fairy and she goes into peoples dreams and makes them dream what they want. (Ex- girls have dreams about love, guys- sports..)

“Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight! For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night.” Romeo- He saw Juliet at the party and he instantly fell in love with her. He thinks she is truly beautiful and it was love at first sight.
“I tell you, he that can lay hold of her shall have the chinks” Nurse- She said this because whoever marries Juliet will be rich with money, because Juliet’s family is rich.
ACT IV
What does Juliet mean when she says, “Do thou but call my resolution wise and with his knife I’ll help it presently” She is saying that she will ask Friar Lawrence for help. He gives her a potion that will keep her asleep and pale looking dead for 40 hours, when she wakes up she will not have to marry Paris. But if this doesn’t work she will kill herself.

Who said “Methinks I see thee, now thou art so low, as one dead at the bottom of a tomb.” What is the importance of this quote? Juliet- Romeo looks very pale and like he is dead in a tomb being lowered to the ground. She is foreshadowing his possible death.

Nurse- She was saying this to comfort Juliet by saying that men are all liars (perjures), cheaters, can’t be trusted, all bad, and that it isn’t just Romeo who is like that.
Who said “That banished, that one banished, hath slain ten thousand Tybalts.” What is the importance of this quote? Juliet- She was saying how she loves Romeo so much and that she would rather have him. Because Romeo being banished is like Tybalt being killed 10,000 times.
