Identify Myrtle and George Wilson Myrtle- Is Tom’s girlfriend and George Wilson’s wife. George is a car dealer and owns his own garage.
How is the Character of George Wilson described as opposed to Myrtle Wilson? George is quiet and Myrtle shows vitality.

In the first chapter, Nick tells us he tries to reserve judgement, to be open-minded. After this chapter, do you think he lives up to that ideal? No I dont think he lives up to that ideal.
Describe the change of personality that Nick observes in Myrtle after she changes her dress for the party? She became arrogant
Why does Tom break Myrtles nose? Because she keeps calling Daisy’s name.
After Nick leaves the party, three brief scenes folow to conclude the chapter. What occurs in these scenes, and what is achieved through Fitzgerald’s tone and language. He goes to the elevator with Mr. McKee. Then he is stanidng by Mr. McKee’s bedside. Then Nick is lying in a Pennsylvania station waiting for a train. This shows that Nick is drinking too much.
