Why does Juliet take a dagger to bed with her? in case the potion doesn’t work and she realizes she has to marry Paris in the morning

Why doesn’t the Nurse discover that Juliet is dead until line 14? she thinks that Juliet is just asleep; she had even been talking to herself while in Juliet’s room
Friar Lawrence scolds Juliet’s family for something. What is it and what reason does he give? He says that heaven is a “better place” so they shouldn’t be sad that she is dead. Also, he chides the family for pushing Juliet into the marriage, when all the family wanted was Paris’ status.
The Capulets were ready to have a wedding feast. How will the preparations for the feast be changed by Juliet’s death? everything will be changed to become Juliet’s funeral (flowers, food, music, etc)
what did romeo dream and why is it ironic? that Juliet came and found him dead and revived him by kissing him. Then, the “power” of the kiss turns him into an emperor.
What does Romeo expect from Verona? a letter from Friar Lawrence about Juliet
What news does he receive? Juliet is dead (balthasar tells him)
Why does Romeo think he can bribe the Apothecary to break the law of Mantua? he is poor and starving: he needs money, and will be willing to disregard the law.
For what kind of poison does Romeo ask the Apothecary? fast-acting poison that will kill him
What problems arise in Friar Lawrence’s plan? Friar John, who was supposed to deliver the letter to Romeo, had to be quarantined due to a friend’s sickness. He was too late in bringing Romeo (who was in Mantua) the letter from Friar Lawrence.
Why does Paris come to Juliet’s tomb? To see her for the last time, say goodbye, and spread flowers
Why does Paris think Romeo has come to Juliet’s tomb? to be destructive
What is Paris’ last request and what effect does it have on Romeo? to kill him. Romeo wants to and it doesn’t bother him. Paris is killed and wants to be buried with Juliet. Romeo is losing it and going crazy.
Why does the Friar run away, leaving Juliet behind? Juliet wants to kill herself
How does Juliet’s react to finding Romeo dead? How are her last actions typical of her? She wants to kill herself. She wants to kiss him- maybe he will have some poison left on his lips. She stabs herself to death.
What instructions did Romeo give Balthasar? Not to bother Romeo under any circumstances
What reason does Balthasar think Romeo is going into the tomb for? As he is a Montague, the Capulets can’t see him. He is actually going to the tomb to 1) see Juliet’s face2) take her ring from her finger 3) kill himself
What does Balthasar do? Hides behind a tree.
Does Romeo intend to kill Paris when he sees him in the church yard? No; he only kills him when Paris provokes him/picks a fight.
Why does Friar Lawrence leave the tomb? He hears the Page and Watch coming
What offer does Friar Lawrence make after recounting the story? He offers his own life.
Do you think anything is his fault? literally, EVERYTHING is his fault. smh.
How does the Prince react after reading Romeo’s letter to Montague? What’s in the letter? Romeo confirms, in the letter to his father, what the Friar has said, how he and Juliet married, how he heard the news of her death, and how he then killed himself to be with Juliet forever.The Prince is very angry, and blames R+J’s deaths on the feud.
What conclusion does the Prince draw about all of their deaths? He announces that everyone who died is dead because of the Montague/Capulet feud.
