Tybalt, still enraged at Romeo’s intrusion at the Capulet’s ball, is determined to fight, but Romeo refuses. Why? Romeo loves Juliet and Tybalt is Juliet’s cousin so he doesn’t want to start anything.
How does Mercutio (Romeo’s friend) get involved, and what happens to him? He is tired of Tybalt insulting Romeo and he dies.
How is Romeo accidentally responsible for Mercutio’s death? He was trying to stop the fight when Mercutio was stabbed.
What is Romeo’s motivation for killing Tybalt? (Why did he do it?) He was upset that Tybalt killed Mercutio, his friend.

How does Juliet react to the nurse’s news? She has mixed feelings because Tybalt is her cousin, but she loves Romeo.
How does the nurse console Juliet? She tells Juliet she will find Romeo for her.
How does Romeo react to the news of his banishment? He says he might as well be dead.
